The culinary scene in Beverly Hills continues to grow with the arrival of the first Jean-Georges restaurant on the West Coast, Gratitude Beverly Hills, the trendy Alfred Coffee and more. The retail realm has also expanded, welcoming internationally renowned hairstylist Jonathan Antin's namesake salon as well as the first U.S. boutique for Only Roses, a London-based florist. La Colombe Coffee Roasters
La Colombe, veteran East Coast coffee roaster originating from Philadelphia and founded by Todd Carmichael and Jean Philippe Iberti, made its debut in Beverly Hills this summer. La Colombe offers a variety of coffee, including the traditional cappuccino, cortado, Americano varieties as well as pour over options and draft lattes. La Colombe carries an assortment of herbal tea as well as hot chocolate. The food selection varies based on location due to their local partnerships.
Coffee aficionados are rejoicing with the opening of Alfred Beverly Hills on North Beverly Drive. Classifying themselves as the “Home of the World Famous Iced Vanilla Latte,” the trendy coffee shop, known for coining the term “But first, coffee,” offers an eclectic beverage menu of cold brew floats made with Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream and Stumptown Coffee, pressed juices from Raw Juicery, Kombucha on tap and much more. Enjoy your beverage with any of the shop’s sweet and savory options, such as pastries from Sugarbloom Bakery, a chicken chorizo or bacon cheddar Breakfast Burrito or light to-go bites sourced from local organic restaurants, M Café and Gratitude Beverly Hills. Soom Soom Fresh
Marrying healthy and organic foods with classic Mediterranean roots, Soom Soom Fresh, which opened this summer, offers Mediterranean favorites including falafel, chicken or beef kebob, and Mediterranean meatballs. Soom Soom also has a weekend breakfast menu available serving shakshukah, a veggie omelet baguette and more.
St. Supery Estate Tasting Salon
Owned by Skalli family, from summer 2017 through summer of 2018, the St. Supery Estate Tasting Salon brings its Interactive Wine Experiences to Beverly Hills. Activities include Comparing and Contrasting Styles of Sauvignon Blanc, Discovering the White and Red Varietals of Bordeaux and Aromatherapy with a Corkscrew.
Tarte Tatin Bakery & Café
Nestled amongst the neighborhood shops of South Beverly Drive, Tarte Tatin Bakery & Café opened its doors in July 2017 serving pastries, sandwiches, salads and drinks. With influences from Israel, Tunisia, Romania and France, the bakery offers Mediterranean-inspired dishes, such as the Jerusalem bagel toast or the Israeli breakfast, composed of farm-fresh eggs served any style, accompanied with house-made hummus, a fresh cucumber tomato salad, herb topped lebneh and a basket of fresh bread. The bakery also offers a selection of seasonal cakes and tarts prepared daily by their Head Chef, Kobi Tabiano, who studied the culinary arts in Paris, Geneva and Tel Aviv and worked worldwide to bring his unique taste to the new Beverly Hills bakery.
Jean-Georges Beverly Hills
With establishments that adorn the global landscape from New York City to Japan, Beverly Hills welcomed the opening of Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills, which includes Jean-Georges Beverly Hills. The fine dining restaurant is the first West Coast venture by the acclaimed Michelin star chef and serves as the luxury property’s signature restaurant offering plush indoor seating, a 25-seat private dining room and a sprawling passionfruit vine-covered outdoor terrace. Featuring opulent French-American cuisine, the restaurant’s menu is available for in-room dining for guests of the hotel and reflects dishes inspired by popular dishes of other Jean-Georges restaurants from around the world.
American Tea Room
After undergoing construction since 2015, the Beverly Hills location is back. The upgraded American Tea Room store on North Cannon Drive offers many tea varieties and selection of fresh pastries creating a lovely experience for customers to indulge.
Merci Clement is an inviting French café perfect for breakfast or a light lunch. The cafe is located along South Santa Monica Boulevard and is open Tuesday through Saturday.
Gratitude Beverly Hills
The hottest restaurant to hit the vegan dining scene, Gratitude Beverly Hills offers an upscale menu of vegan dishes curated by Executive Chef Dreux Ellis, and a wellness-minded beverage program by Beverage Director Jason Eisner. The restaurant features a naturally lit interior dining area amidst a long marble bar top, reclaimed wooden floors and a wide outdoor patio overlooking Canon Drive. Dine on organic and plant-based cuisine with dishes such as a Coconut Ceviche Tostada, Raw Pesto Kelp Noodles or a Raw Mexican Lasagna made with squash noodles and a cashew queso fresco. North Shore Poke Co.
If you’re looking for a quick bite, look no further than North Shore Poke Company located on South Santa Monica Boulevard. With several locations throughout Southern California, the family-run business dedicates itself to serving delicious, fresh and affordable Hawaiian poke. Choose a base of rice served with thinly sliced cucumbers and create a full flavored experience by adding exotic favorites like crispy garlic, daikon spouts or macadamia nuts. Jonathan Antin Salon
Internationally renowned hairstylist Jonathan Antin is known for creating the most sought-after hairstyles for Hollywood's A-list celebrities. A true innovator in the world of beauty, he made his television debut on ABC's Extreme Makeover and E! Entertainment's Fashion Emergency, effectively pioneering the trend of bringing beautiful hairstyles to modern day television. The opening in Beverly Hills is part of Antin’s latest endeavor, the re-opening of his new namesake salons, “Jonathan Antin Salon”. There are definitive plans to roll out the new salon brand worldwide by 2020.
London-based florist, Only Roses, opened in Beverly Hills in the first week of September. The husband and wife owners, Anian and Sabine Schmitt relocated from Dubai to Brentwood in efforts to open their first U.S. boutique. Only Roses is a beloved brand, ordered by many accredited names such as Madonna, Dior, Gucci, and the Four Seasons hotels.
