Beverly Hills continues to welcome new eateries, including a Greek hotspot, a whiskey lounge and a unique juice shop. On the retail front, a Milanese jewelry house opens its flagship store, as well as one of the world’s oldest private fragrance houses for luxurious scents. The Double Barrel
Located just west of La Cienega along Wilshire Boulevard, The Double Barrel offers a curated whiskey experience in Beverly Hills. Members can select from hundreds of hand-picked new, vintage and rare whiskeys and it have it neat, on the rocks or in the form of a barrel-aged cocktail. Pair your whiskey tasting with savory small plates and classic dishes by critically-acclaimed chef Adam Horton, of the legendary Saddle Peak Lodge in Malibu. Though the whiskey room is primarily reserved for members only, walk-ins are welcome and guests can easily become a member with each bottle purchase.
Estiatorio Louká, a new neighborhood Greek restaurant on North Canon Drive, bears a name that pays homage to a small village in the central Peloponnese. Choose from mezedes, savory small plate appetizers, to sto fournos, oven roasted dishes, which include lamb bolognese moussaka or pork sausage with kefalotiri cheese. Complete your meal with a glika, Greek desserts, such as loukoumades, cinnamon-honey coated fried baby donuts, or a house-made honey citrus syrup baklava.
Joe & The Juice
With over 200 locations around the world, Joe & The Juice opened its first location in Beverly Hills on South Santa Monica Boulevard. The Copenhagen-based café chain serves predominantly fresh juices, smoothies, veggie shots, coffee, flatbread sandwiches, omelets, granola bowls and shakes. Customers are likely to encounter a lively staff, called “juicers,” who are given complete autonomy to provide a unique in-store experience where the focus is not just what is served, but how it is served. House favorites include juices, such as The Guardian, made with turmeric, black pepper, pineapple and carrot, or Go Away Doc, a blend of freshly juiced carrot, apple and ginger.
Avra Beverly Hills
New York City’s favorite power dining spot makes its West Coast debut with AVRA Beverly Hills. The popular high-end Greek restaurant takes overs the former Hakkasan space in the Golden Triangle and has been designed to create an atmosphere similar to that of an open-air villa in Greece, with fresh lemon trees, imported limestone and stone washed walls. The cuisine features traditional Greek dishes with an emphasis on fresh seafood.
The House of Creed
Catering to global fragrance connoisseurs who love travel and luxurious scents, The House of Creed’s new boutique is set at the prime corner of Brighton Way and North Camden Drive. Clients are invited to explore the brand’s rich history spanning six generations through an array of luxurious scents, both commissioned and worn by kings and queens. Milanese jewelry house, Pomellato, has returned to Beverly Hills with a new flagship location at Two Rodeo Drive. Founded at the height of the mid-century modern aesthetic in 1967, Pomellato’s Italian craftsmanship, unconventional luxury and contemporary style can be noted throughout the store. Stars and other clients can shop the brand’s tactile gemstone cuts and offbeat colored jewels in peace in the boutique’s VIP area, which features an oversized, high-backed golden sofa, custom designed with privacy in mind.
