In celebration of Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award recipient, Oprah Winfrey, a special screening of The Color Purple will be presented in the Samuel Goldwyn Theater at The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Scences. The evening includes an introduction by Academy President Tom Sherak, remarks from special guest, Margaret Avery, who received a Best Supporting Actress nomination for The Color Purple, and a video message from Gabourey Sidibe.
