Named for Antonie Brentano, whom many scholars consider to be Beethoven’s “Immortal Beloved,” the Brentano String Quartet (Mark Steinberg, violin; Serena Canin, violin; Misha Amory, viola; Nina Lee, cello) was founded in 1992, and has appeared throughout the world to popular and critical acclaim. The New York Times extols its “luxuriously warm sound [and] yearning lyricism.” For their engagement at The Wallis, the Brentano String Quartet will perform Haydn’s Quartet in B♭-Major, Op. 50, No.1; Bartok’s Quaret No. 3; and Debussy’s String Quartet.
