Every Saturday and Sunday, families can enjoy a fun, entertaining, and educational program featuring screenings of beloved TV shows inspired by classic children’s books. The program starts with a cozy story time, where a presenter reads the original book aloud. Afterward, families will watch the TV show adaptation and participate in arts & crafts and activities inspired by the stories. It’s the perfect combination of reading, watching, and playing—only at Paley!
August Schedule: Harold and the Purple Crayon
“Harold and the Purple Crayon Episode 1”
- Dates: August 2, 16 & 30
- In this premiere episode, Harold has trouble falling asleep and uses a magic crayon to go on a grand adventure, featuring a pie-eating porcupine, a very hungry moose, and a scary sea monster who becomes a lovable friend.
“Harold and the Purple Crayon Episode 2”
- Dates: August 9 & 23
- In this rainy day episode, Harold saves two baby squirrels from going over a waterfall, and must help return them home to their mother squirrel.
August Arts & Crafts: Draw Your Adventure with Harold!
Harold went on many exciting adventures! What type of adventure would you go on? What would you do? Who would you see? Select your favorite crayon color and use your imagination to draw your very own adventure, just like Harold.
Free Parking: The first two hours of parking are free! Park at 450 N Rexford Drive (next door to the library).
