Jewish American Heritage Month

Join the city of Beverly Hills and the Community Services Department for a series of events throughout the month of May celebrating and recognizing the achievements and contributions of Jewish Americans.

• Rugelach Contest and Klezmer Music at Beverly Hills Farmers' Market – (Sunday, May 5 from 8 a.m.- to 1 p.m.) – Enter the Rugelach Baking Contest and see who are the winners at the Farmers' Market, where you can enjoy the Zetz Klezmer Band. Enter the contest by April 28.
• Roxbury Reels - Movies Celebrating Storylines about Jewish Americans, Roxbury Park Community Center – (May 4, 11, 18 & 25 on Thursdays at 1 p.m.) – May 4, Fiddler on the Roof; May 11, A Serious Man; May 18, Funny Girl; and May 25, An American Pickle.
• "Shalom Stories" - Storytime with Jessica Honor Carleton, Beverly Hills Public Library – (Sunday, May 5 at 1 p.m.) – Join Emmy Award-winning actress and writer, Jessica Honor Carleton who is excited to share stories from her culture and celebrate Jewish storytelling. 
• Critical Conversations Speaker Series: Jewish Tales, Tunes and Tastes:  From Up Your Street and Around the World, Beverly Hills Public Library – (Wednesday, May 31 at 6:30 p.m.) – Join a free speakers series, where five dynamic leaders will discuss and celebrate the Jewish contributions in all aspects of American life, including arts and culture, politics, media and entertainment, philanthropy, the tech industry and science and medicine. 
• Workshops Celebrating Jewish American Heritage & Culture, Roxbury Park Community Center – (Fridays May 3, 10, 17, 24 & 31 at 1 p.m.) – Drop in art class instructed by Miss Dyana. Unleash your inner artist in these inclusive art classes celebrating Jewish American heritage or culture.  Whether you're an experienced artist or a novice, this class is your canvas to let your imagination flourish.
