Dubbed "commendably stinting and cold, a series that doesn't aim to please, and is all the more pleasurable for it" by the New York Times, Southland is a Los Angeles-set police procedural following in the glorified tradition of such shows as Dragnet, Police Story, and The Shield. Positioned as a "raw and authentic look" at a particular LAPD unit, the series explores both the personal and professional lives of the crimefighters, in addition to the stories behind the criminals and victims who circle in their orbit. Southland is one of those rare shows that begins life on a broadcast network - in this case NBC - and then moves over to basic cable, which is what happened when TNT picked up the series and commissioned new episodes in 2010.

Join The Paley Center on Tuesday, May 31 at 7pm as they screen a series of highlights from the series, followed by a Q&A with the cast and creative team.  The following cast and crew are scheduled to appear: Ben McKenzie, "Officer Ben Sherman" ; Regina King, "Detective Lydia Adams"; Michael Cudlitz, "Officer John Cooper"; Shawn Hatosy, "Detective Sammy Bryant"; John Wells, Executive Producer and Christopher Chulack, Executive Producer .

Tickets are $15 for Paley members and $20 for the general public. Click on http://www.paleycenter.org to purchase tickets or for more information about The Paley Center for Media.
