BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. – October 29, 2014 – Beverly Hills will come alive for the holidays with luxurious holiday décor, including 16 full-size crystal Baccarat chandeliers, approximately valued at $1 million, along Rodeo Drive and a special holiday lighting ceremony on Sunday, November 23. There will also be a number of family-friendly events throughout the city hosted by Beverly Hills Conference and Visitors Bureau, such as the first-ever specialty European-style Holiday Bazaar in Beverly Canon Gardens on Saturday, December 13 and Sunday, December 14.
“The holidays in Beverly Hills, with its lavish décor, stunning displays and memorable events, are truly unique to our iconic city, especially as we conclude our city’s centennial celebration,” said Julie Wagner, Chief Executive Officer, Beverly Hills Conference and Visitors Bureau. “We encourage visitors, both near and far, as well as our residents, to come to Beverly Hills this holiday season for an experience that the whole family can enjoy.”
Beverly Hills will launch the holiday season with a special lighting ceremony on Sunday, November 23 at 6:00 pm on Rodeo Drive. Guests of the event will witness 16 Baccarat chandeliers and nearly 150,000 lights brighten up the famed street, as well as picturesque holiday banners, beautifully lit birch trees and festive poinsettias on display. Mayor Lili Bosse will make an appearance and the evening will conclude with a fireworks show and a confetti “snow” shower, marking the arrival of the holiday season. The entire city will also be decorated with holiday lights, banners and ornaments, including Two Rodeo Drive, which will boast red, silver and gold holiday décor, a 30-foot Christmas tree, a nine-foot tall menorah, live carolers and musicians, and, for few days before Christmas, falling snow for all to enjoy.
On Saturday, December 13 and Sunday, December 14, Beverly Hills Conference and Visitors Bureau will produce a specialty European-style Holiday Bazaar from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm daily. Set in the city’s Beverly Canon Gardens, between Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bistro and Montage Beverly Hills, the Beverly Hills Holiday Bazaar will be elegantly draped with traditional holiday decor, such as white lights, ornaments of deep red and forest green and other classic holiday trimmings. The free, family-friendly event will feature local artisans selling unique and handcrafted gift items alongside select Beverly Hills businesses that will showcase and sell their own holiday goods. Guests can enjoy seasonal treats from business like Vosges Haut-Chocolat, Montage Beverly Hills and others, live musical entertainment, and plenty of holiday activities for children of all ages.
Also, throughout the month of December, guests can enjoy free holiday treats and a visit with Santa Claus at The Paley Center for Media from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm each weekend leading up to Christmas. The Paley Center for Media will feature screenings of favorite holiday television specials including Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Mr. Magoo’s Christmas Carol, Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer and the I Love Lucy Christmas Special.
