Built in 1928 for the son of a prominent oil baron, the majestic Greystone Mansion & Gardens is surrounded by 18.5 acres of lush, city-owned parkland. Formerly known as the Doheny estate, it is now a registered historical landmark in Beverly Hills.
Greystone often serves as a stunning backdrop for cultural and educational activities, photo and commercial shoots, weddings and public events. Additionally, since 1965, when the property was leased to the American Film Institute, Greystone has had feature roles in many famous movies.
Visitors are invited to stroll through two public areas on the grounds: the beautifully maintained formal gardens with their centerpiece fountain, and the pool and inner courtyard area.
Park grounds are usually open to the public daily, but may occasionally be closed for holidays, filming or special events. There is no fee for parking or park admission on open park days. Greystone Mansion & Gardens is open only for special events.

Special events, including musical and theatrical performances, are held throughout the year, including the annual Greystone Mansion & Gardens Concours d’Elegance.
The Concours d’Elegance takes place on the first Sunday of May and displays over 150 automobiles at the historic Greystone Mansion & Gardens. Each vehicle on display competes for “Best of Show,” “Peoples’ Choice,” “Best in Class” and many other awards. Past winners include a 1904 Schacht Model K voted “Best in Class,” 1912 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost for “Best of Show,” a “Best in Class” 1963 Shelby Cobra and a 1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ for “Best of Show.”
This ticketed event boasts classic pre-1975 cars, a field full of motorcycles and gourmet food and beverages. Attendees can also enjoy live music, fashion shows and unique lectures, which in the past have included topics such as professional stunt driving and automobile photography. To top it off, guests are given the very rare opportunity to go inside and explore the entire historic Greystone, which is normally closed to the public during park operating hours.
