In 1983, French designer, Robert Clergerie, launched his first line of shoes for women, taking inspiration from the more traditional, masculine element of the company and society. His designer shoe collections are known for their simplicity, purity of design, their slightly masculine feel and the quality of fit. He believes that while the wearer carries the garment, with a shoe, it’s different – the shoe carries the wearer.
