Paley Center TV Trick or Treat

There are tricks and treats aplenty as the Paley Center celebrates Halloween with a grab bag of episodes and specials celebrating every ghoul’s favorite holiday. Buffy Summers and Dr. Horrible invite you to join them in raising some spirits in song. Then, we present the Halloween episode of the cult classic series Freaks and Geeks.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: “Once More with Feeling”
Joss Whedon’s vamp-hunting superheroine broke many boundaries on her eponymous television show, but perhaps the most memorable outing for the lethal cheerleader and her loyal Scooby Gang was this musical episode, a sensation that inspired a host of imitators and remains one of the series’ most beloved episodes. Come over, dress up as your favorite character, and sing along with your fellow superfans as we bring you the sumptuously mounted lark on the big screen, as we feel it was always meant to be experienced. Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog
Whedon later returned to the musical genre, gathering friends and family to create a completely independent mini-epic exclusively for Internet distribution: Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. A typically Whedonesque blend of irreverent pop culture-savvy humor, a surprisingly affecting emotional core, and generally cool stuff, DHSAB introduces the lovelorn, would-be supervillain Billy/Dr. Horrible (Neil Patrick Harris), pining for the lovely laundromat habitué Penny (Felicia Day) and craving admittance to the prestigious Evil League of Evil. Harris is amazing, nemesis Captain Hammer (Nathan Fillion) is hilarious, and we know you’ll all sound great singing the catchy score in your best Dr. Horrible costumes. Bring your own Wonderflonium.
