Join Virginia Robinson Gardens as Roy Meals, a semi-retired orthopedic surgeon and outdoor enthusiast, highlights a myriad of little-known points of interest and fascinating conversations gathered while walking the 342-mile perimeter of Los Angeles city.

In ten-mile twice-weekly segments, he followed LA’s outer boundary beginning atop a 5000-foot mountain, then along sea-level beaches and through residential, commercial, and industrial developments. He sampled ethnic delicacies, raced go-karts, pet a giraffe, suffered landfill ejection, appreciated the diverse flora, both native and cultured, and took hang gliding and fencing lessons. His observations encourage others to escape their neighborhoods in LA and elsewhere, venture forth on foot, and savor discoveries otherwise unobtainable. Armchair adventurists too will grow their appreciation for the richness and diversity of the City of Angels.
